Assignment for Week 1

For the second class, please have the following ready:

1) PURCHASE A THUMBDRIVE (1G minimum), if you do not already own one. If you are planning on working extensively with graphics and video in the years to come, it may be worthwhile to purchase a larger external hard drive- I'm happy to discuss some options with you.

PURCHASE a NOTEBOOK for class. (You'll need to take notes. Believe me. The class blog is great, but it reflects how I think about these programs and assignments. It's much more valuable if you also have documentation of how you understand the programs we're working with)

2) Read the assignment PDF for Assignment 1: Bending History.
Read the New York Times article, at http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/23/weekinreview/23marsh.html?_r=2&scp=1&sq=photo%20fakery&st=cse

Locate three related images, either in the library or from resources you have yourself, and bring in your three hard-copy images next week. These can be from magazines, printed photos, or the library Picture File (which I highly recommend).

BRING TO NEXT CLASS

1. Your thumb-drive and notebook.
2. Your three hard-copy images
